Brand new footage aboard a Class 70 light engine of Colas Rail from Milton Keynes Central to Oxford – re-opening of the line from Bletchley to Oxford.

The departure from Milton Keynes Central was early afternoon and we climb from Denbigh Hall South Jct to Bletchley High Level – passing over Summit of Flyover Jct that links the line towards Bedford.

Our journey continues to Winslow, a new station, and over the planned HS2 route at Claydon East Jct where you can see all the works currently underway.

Then onwards to Gavrey Jn and Bicester Village Station, the Bicester Depot Sidings, Islip and Oxford Parkway before Oxford Canal Jn, Woodstock Road Jn, and Oxford North and Station Jns, terminating into the bay platform - Platform 1.

Ten minutes to change ends for the return journey. We are held after Bletchley High Level as there is a broken rail on the day of filming on the Westcoast Mainline towards Milton Keynes.

In previous filming of CHN10 – Chiltern footage of Aylesbury & Beyond its interesting to look at the journey aboard a Class 121 (single car unit) where we leave Aylesbury Vale Parkway and travel through Quainton Road and Claydon Jct before reversing along the previously known Bletchley Single Line to Bicester Town & Oxford.
